Business Training for Doctors · For the salaried Consultant

Learn to read, grow and negotiate the business behind your clinical practice.

Your OPD fills. Your list runs. Your Patients come back. This is the other half of that work.. what your practice generates, where it comes from, how your pay is built, and how to hold a commercial conversation about all three. The business side of your own practice, taught to the Doctor who does not own the Hospital.

8 modules
The same operating model as the Owner programmes, read from the Consultant's side
2 x 3 hrs
Plus three reviews of ninety minutes each

Why this exists

Pick the one that makes you nod.

You know what you were paid last month. You do not know what your practice billed.

Your Patient is told the price by somebody you have not met and have not trained.

Your referrals come from people you met years ago, and few new ones have been added since.

Search your name and the Hospital appears before you do.

You accepted a variable component without knowing what it is measured on.

You have thought about starting on your own, and you do not know which question to ask first.

Hospitals train Doctors for clinical excellence, and they do it well. The economics of building and growing an individual practice usually remains unexplained.. not withheld, simply not anybody's job to teach. Clinically you are ready. This is the part that was not put in front of you.

What this covers

Understanding practice revenue Reading your own numbers Compensation structures Referral sources OPD productivity Commercial conversations Employment or independent practice Future career decisions
The eight

Eight subjects, in a fixed order.

One to three fill the clinic. Four converts it. Five and six let you see it. Seven frees you from doing it alone. Eight decides what you do next.

Module 01

Business Development and Referrals

Where your cases actually come from, written down for the first time. Which sources are yours, which belong to the building, and which have not been added to in years.

Module 02

Being Found and Being Chosen

Your name, your positioning, what a Doctor may publish, and the referral marketing that fills a list. This module carries the essentials of building a personal brand, for the Consultant who has not done that work yet.

Module 03

OPD Growth

Your own list. Slots, no-shows, repeat visits, and your share of the Hospital's OPD. The difference between a full clinic and a productive one.

Module 04

Revenue and Conversion

What happens to your Patient after your cabin. The Counselling handover you do not run, the price conversation you rarely hear, and the drop between advice given and treatment taken.

Module 05

Technology

What the Hospital's systems can already tell you about your own practice, and what to ask for when they cannot. Vendor neutral. No software is recommended and none is named.

Module 06

Finance

How your pay is actually built. Fixed, variable, collection linked, minimum guarantee. What your practice generates against what reaches you, and which numbers move it. Business information, not financial advice.

Module 07

Team

The people around your clinic you depend on and do not manage. The Front Desk, the phone, the Counsellor, the co-ordinator. Influence without authority, and how it is earned.

Module 08

What Next

Stay and rise, go on your own, or partner. What each route demands of you before you can take it. Readiness, rather than a valuation.

Subject titles and outcomes are on this page. The full outline and the run sheet go out on WhatsApp, on request.

What you leave with.

Four things, all of them written down, all of them yours.

A written picture of your own practice
Where the cases come from, which sources are yours, and which have gone quiet.

Your own numbers, read once
The figures your Hospital already holds about your practice, and what to ask for when it does not hold them.

One page on how you are paid
Fixed, variable and what each part is measured on, in language you can take into a conversation.

One decision on what next
With the questions attached, so the decision is made on facts rather than on a bad month.

Two sessions, then three reviews.

The same shape as every training here.

Session one
Modules 1 to 4. Where your cases come from, how you are found and chosen, your own list, and what happens to your Patient after your cabin.

Session two
Modules 5 to 8. What the systems can tell you, how your pay is built, the team around you, and what next.

Three reviews
Ninety minutes each, spread across the weeks after. You bring what you did, not what you learned.

Eight actions
One committed action per module. Eight in total, written in the room, reviewed afterwards.

At the Hospital or online. Worked on your own practice, with no Patient named and no case discussed.

How it is taken.

Booked for a group of Consultants, or taken by one Doctor.

For the group

Booked by the Hospital

A Hospital, a department or an association books it for its Consultants. Two sessions of three hours, then three reviews of ninety minutes, at the Hospital or online.

Talk About Your Consultants
For one Doctor

A seat you take yourself

If your Hospital is not going to run it, you do not have to wait for them. Ask for a seat on the next open batch, live online, and take it in your own name.

Ask For A Seat

Who it is for.

And where the other doors are.

The salaried Consultant
On a payroll, running a full clinic, in somebody else's building.

The senior Consultant
Years in, a name in the corridor, and no picture of what the practice generates.

Department leads
Responsible for a unit's numbers without having been shown how to read them.

Who books it
A Hospital or department for its Consultants, an association for its members, or a Doctor for himself.

If you own the Clinic or Hospital, the same operating model is taught from the Owner’s side in the Business MasterClass for Clinic and Hospital Owners. If you are finishing training, start with From PG to Practice. For deeper work on your public name, there is Personal Brand Building Training for Doctors.

The line

Your medicine is not the subject.

Nothing here touches clinical judgment, clinical protocol or a Patient care decision. No software is recommended and no vendor is named. Nothing in Module 6 is financial advice, and nothing in Module 8 values a Hospital.

Common questions

Common questions

Who is this training for?

The salaried Consultant. The Doctor on a payroll who runs a full clinic and does not own the Hospital. Senior Consultants, department leads and Doctors building their own name and Patient flow inside somebody else's building.

How is it different from the Owner programme?

It covers the same eight subjects from the other side. The Owner programme works on a business you own. This works on a practice you run inside a business somebody else owns, so every module stays inside what you can actually control. If you own the Clinic or Hospital, the Owner side is at /masterclass/.

Do I need to have done Build Your Brand, Doctor first?

No. Module 2 carries the essentials, so a Consultant who has not done that work is not left short. Personal Brand Building goes further on positioning, publishing and being on camera, and it sits at /for-doctors/.

How is it delivered?

The same shape as every training here. Two sessions of three hours each, at the Hospital or online, followed by three reviews of ninety minutes each. One committed action per module, eight in total.

Who books it?

A Hospital or a department for its Consultants, an association for its members, or a Doctor for himself on an open batch. Both routes run the same content.

Does any of it touch clinical work?

No. Nothing here touches clinical judgment, clinical protocol or Patient care decisions. The business lane only.

You have spent years becoming good at the medicine.

Give the business side of your own practice two mornings.
